Worship Times
Worship begins at 10 am (9 am June through August).
Are kids welcome?
YES! We love kids at Paxton UCC. They start in the service, and after a special time with our pastor, they head to Sunday School–a time filled with stories, crafts, and activities!
How do I get in?
Our church has the traditional big doors on the front of the building that will be flung wide waiting for you. There will be a member there to greet you and show you into the church.
Sunday Morning
What to expect during worship
You can expect to laugh along with the congregation, be lifted up by the music , find spiritual strength in the sermon, and feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Worship begins at 10am during the school year, with Sunday School for Kids of all ages, Infants to Jr High School. During the Summer, June through August, we worship at 9am and have activity sheets available for the kids with a slightly shorter service. There is ample parking across the street from the Church. During nice weather, you can expect to be greeted at the opened front doors and are always welcome at Fellowship Coffee Hour immediately following worship. A typical service is about 40-60 minutes, and includes several hymns, music selections by the choir(s) and organist, and an always captivating and entertaining sermon. We truly hope to see you on Sunday Mornings!
We are blessed with a talented two-person music team in our Director of Music and Organist. The Music Ministry is a strong and diverse program that includes the Adult Choir; Joy Singers, middle/high school youth; and Grace Notes, elementary/middle school youth. The Adult Choir participates weekly in the Sunday Worship Service and the youth choirs participate several Sundays each year. There is also a hand chimes choir that plays a few times a year. We will often incorporate other instruments in our worship service, like Recorder, Guitar, Piano, Trumpet, and several other musical sounds to enhance our program.
In congregational conversations and surveys, our music programs is consistently identified as one of the strongest programs of our church.
